Exceptionally well. As most expats know all too well, much of the UK has notoriously hard water rich in mineral content, so the authentic British formula is engineered with advanced chelating agents to perform under tough water conditions.
On the other hand, Australian water supplies are relatively soft to moderate, Ariel’s concentrated surfactants and enzymes lather efficiently and rinse out cleanly without leaving mineral residue behind.
Liquid Detergent (1.33L): Use 35 ml for standard everyday loads (4–5 kg) in normal water. For heavily soiled garments or larger capacity machines (6–8+ kg), increase to 50–65 ml.
All-in-1 Pods: Place 1 pod directly into the back of the empty drum before adding your clothes for standard loads. For extra-large family loads (>7kg) or heavily soiled athletic wear, use 2 pods.
Ariel’s multi-enzyme complex is designed to activate rapidly at lower temperatures (20-40ºC) to save energy and protect fibres. While washing at 60ºC is effective for sanitising towels, bedding, and whites, water temperatures sustained above 60-70ºC can gradually denature bio-enzymes.
However, Ariel is rated to handle water temperatures from 20-95ºC.
For regular everyday clothing, washing between 30ºC and 40ºC delivers peak stain-removal performance while preserving fabric life.
Yes. The British formulation features a controlled-sudsing profile engineered specifically to prevent over-foaming in high-efficiency front loaders, while delivering the deep immersion cleaning required for standard agitator and impeller top loaders.
Always toss the pod into the back of the empty washing machine drum first, before loading your laundry on top. This ensures immediate contact with incoming water, allowing the water-soluble film to dissolve completely within the first few minutes of the cycle. Never place pods in the detergent drawer dispenser.
Ariel’s active surfactants are readily biodegradable and comply with strict European environmental standards. When used according to standard dosage recommendations, it is safe for standard household septic systems. For direct untreated garden greywater diversion, we recommend alternating with low-sodium, fragrance-free detergents.
